KAIPPG's guiding philosophy is helping people to help themselves, and to that end, each individual and group working with KAIPPG plans and implements their own program of action, evaluating its progress along the way, and making changes as needed. We provide material aid when we can, support and technical assistance, and training and counselling.

We have an intensive and extensive program of education (about HIV/AIDS, in terms of job-skills and food production, and also in terms of general education), and we specialize in counselling, dietary-intervention, healthcare, home-based care for PWAS, and programs to help orphans and other vulnerable children, youth, and women in particular.

We address the stigma and discrimination faced by people with HIV/AIDS, and try to help whole communities come to grips with its many aspects and effects on individuals and communities. We address poverty (through our microcredit and job-training programs),  malnutrition (through an innovative crop-husbandry and food production program, emphasizing local foodstuffs, and nutrition education), lack of education and healthcare (we help send children to school and are working on programs for out-of-school and non-traditional students, and we have health clinics and staff who see to a wide variety of health problems), human-rights (through advocacy for various populations affected and infected by HIV/AIDS), and environmental sustainability (by ensuring that our programs are reflect sound environmental principles and practices).
